- 1825  (1927)  The settler must clear five acres upon each hundred granted to him, open a road in front of his lot, and build a loghouse of certain dimensions. These settling duties, if performed within eighteen months after location ticket has been issued entitle the emigrant to a deed from the Government which makes the lot his forever.
